Such a lovely fall day to have piping hot biscuits topped with homemade apple butter!
Who doesn’t love apple butter and biscuits!

Apple Butter

Prep Time:30 minutes Cook time: 15 hours
Servings: 8 pints

8 Pounds Peeled and sliced apples ( I used Jonamac, Granny Smith and Gala, use what you like)
1 Cup apple cider or water
1 1/2 cups white
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
2 tablespoons cinnamon
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1 teaspoon allspice
1 tsp salt
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
1 tablespoon vanilla
  1. Add apples into a roaster along with a cup of water. Cook for 12 hours covered at 175 degrees. You want the apples to be soft and them to have a dark color.
  2. With an immersion blender puree the apples until you get the consistency you want. Add both sugars, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, salt and vinegar. Cook for approximately 3 hours covered. Take a spoonful of apple butter and set on a plate, there should be no water leaking around it and it should stay in a mound and not spread out. Spread love and apple butter and be happy!
